Using contraceptives
Various forms of contraception were however mentioned by a large number of learners (e.g. a20b "to use contraceptives every we have sex") - both to prevent pregnancy and to prevent infection.
Condoms were by far the most frequently mentioned contraceptive, although other methods were also mentioned by a few learners as having been part of the Sapler curriculum:
h38b "to use condoms"
h33b "You must use condoms. You must use injections"
h30b "Boy using a condom"
g13g "I liked it when she called us to use condom when you have sex. And to tell your partner when you have STD"
m12g "He make us aware of what can happen when we have sex with a condom"
A number of learners expressed the need to learn more about contraception and condom usage, including one (g24g) who wanted to know more about the female condom and one (m29g) who was interested in the possibility that condoms could be delivered to the school.
